Brew Moonlight Peaks potions with nine verified recipes, find Luck Dust, make Sunscreen and Sugar, and unlock the Refiner and Cauldron.

Moonlight Peaks Potions, Sunscreen, Refiner & Sugar Guide
Quick answers: the Sunscreen Potion recipe uses 1 Egg + 1 Fiber. Efficiency tonics such as Mindless Miner and Fierce Forester last one in-game night. Luck Dust comes from farm dig spots created by a fed Rabbicula, but collecting it costs one crop. Fix the farmhouse roof for Ridge to receive the Refiner recipe, then craft it with 20 Wood + 20 Stone. A Mill turns 1 Sugarbone into 2 Sugar.
Crafting supports almost every part of the farm: quests request refined materials, crops become more useful after processing, and later progression adds cooking, potions, and specialized makers.
How to Make the Sunscreen Potion
Use a Cauldron with:
- 1 Egg
- 1 Fiber
The resulting Sunscreen Potion protects the vampire from the sun in the checked release guides. Cauldron access is not available on the opening night: complete Mend it with Magic, have Fiona repair the broken Cauldron for 2 Mana Essences, and then continue the potion progression. Sabrina sells additional potion recipes at Webb of Wonders after the system opens.
The current official Wiki lists the Sunscreen recipe at 2,000 Coins and a ready-made potion at 60 Coins through Webb of Wonders. Check the live shop if a later patch changes either price.
The checked sources do not establish that Sunscreen cancels the game's hard end-of-night behavior in every version. Treat it as sun protection, not proof that a night can continue indefinitely past the normal limit.
Universal Storage
The house includes universal storage. Crafting, cooking, potion-making, and processing stations can pull their ingredients directly from it.
Reviewers did not find a practical capacity limit, which means most materials can be stored centrally rather than divided among many chests.
Two limitations matter:
- moving items into storage takes several inputs;
- decorating mode cannot access storage, so furniture must be in the bag.
How to Unlock and Build the Refiner
- Give Ridge 50 Wood to repair the farmhouse roof.
- After the roof is fixed, Ridge visits and gives you the Refiner crafting recipe.
- Use the farmhouse Workbench to craft it with 20 Wood and 20 Stone.
- Place it outside if the opening house does not have enough clear floor space.
The Refiner is the early answer to several apparently different searches: it makes Refined Stone, all three basic plank types, and Fodder.
Core Refiner recipes
| Output | Input | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Refined Stone | 6 Stone | Building and crafting requirements |
| 1 Plank | 3 Wood | General construction |
| 1 Soft Plank | 3 Light Wood | Specialized construction |
| 1 Hardwood Plank | 3 Dark Wood | Specialized construction |
| 2 Fodder | 1 Fiber | Nightly livestock feed |
These release-build recipes are corroborated across Eurogamer, Neoseeker, and LadiesGamers. Processing time and sale value are omitted from the quick table because those are more patch-sensitive than the ingredient conversion.
How to Make Sugar
Sugar uses the Mill, not the Refiner or farmhouse stove.
- Buy a Mill from Ridge at Howling Hammer for 8,000 Coins.
- Choose its farm location and wait two nights for construction.
- Buy Sugarbone Seeds from Luna in Spring or Summer, or forage Sugarbone in the Howling Marshes.
- Grow Sugarbone for five nights if using seed.
- Put 1 Sugarbone in the Mill to make 2 Sugar.
Sugarbone does not grow in Autumn or Winter, so store extra Sugar or Sugarbone before Summer ends. Sugar is required by many Jam Maker, cooking, and potion recipes.
Confirmed Early Makers
Keg
Turns crops into products such as juice and wine. Blood Grape Juice helps with early Energy; wine takes longer and is a major early income source.
Multiple Kegs are useful because processing quickly becomes the farm's bottleneck.
Furnace
Used for refined materials such as bars, charcoal, and glass. Exact recipes should be read from the current in-game station because costs may change with progression or patches.
Cooking
Cooking becomes important for Energy management. Early raw ingredients restore little, so processed drinks and meals help extend productive nights.
How Crafting and Cooking Recipes Unlock
Recipes do not all come from one shop. The release guides checked document several routes:
- story and relationship events give key blueprints, including the Refiner;
- new recipes can appear after sleeping and advancing progression;
- mining rocks and digging glowing ground marks can reveal recipes or blueprints;
- Mina sells cookbooks at the tea shop;
- seasonal festivals sell some cooking recipes;
- Sabrina sells potion recipes after the Cauldron is unlocked.
Check the relevant station after receiving a recipe. Workbench blueprints, maker conversions, stove recipes, and Cauldron recipes appear in different interfaces.

Potion Progression
Potions unlock gradually rather than at the start. Bonus Action ties the first Cauldron to Mend it with Magic: Viktor delivers the character's mother's broken Cauldron, and Fiona repairs it after receiving 2 Mana Essences. The source says Fiona then provides the Cauldron blueprint and the first recipe.
The first recipe is Alter Ego Elixir, which changes appearance. After Cauldron access is unlocked, Sabrina sells additional potion recipes at Webb of Wonders.
Verified potion recipes
The official Moonlight Peaks Wiki now publishes nine Cauldron recipes, and Neoseeker independently lists the same nine brews. Buy the recipe at Webb of Wonders before using the Cauldron.
| Potion | Effect | Recipe price | Ingredients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunscreen Potion | Protects against the sun | 2,000 Coins | 1 Fiber, 1 Egg |
| Alter Ego Elixir | Changes appearance | 1,300 Coins | 1 Quartz Dust, 1 Nightshade Powder, 1 Honey |
| Mana Potion | Refills all 8 Mana | 6,000 Coins | 1 Mana Essence, 1 Drikker, 1 Henbane Powder, 1 Violet, 1 Frosteria |
| Mindless Miner Tonic | Mine without spending Energy for the night | 2,000 Coins | 1 Gold Ore, 1 Leftsee, 1 Glowhammer or Glowglammer, 1 Nightshade Powder |
| Fierce Forester Tonic | Chop without spending Energy for the night | 2,000 Coins | 1 Sage Powder, 1 Amanita, 1 Light Wood, 1 Cranberry |
| Frictionless Farming Tonic | Farm without spending Energy for the night | 2,000 Coins | 1 Onion, 1 Honey, 1 Googly Garlic Powder, 1 Heart Stone |
| Fluent Fishing Tonic | Fish without spending Energy for the night | 2,000 Coins | 1 Splotch, 1 Glow Ginger Powder, 1 Sugar, 1 Volacio Mushroom |
| Love Potion | Adds a small friendship or romance bonus when gifting | 4,000 Coins | 1 Hold-Me-Close, 1 Muse Nut, 1 Amour, 1 Suffrain Powder, 1 Luck Dust |
| Rapid Reel Potion | Makes fish bite immediately | 4,000 Coins | 1 Angry Mandrake, 1 Wolfsbane Powder, 1 Sugar, 1 Whisper |
The two checked databases disagree about the Rapid Reel Potion's sale value. They also spell one Mindless Miner ingredient differently: the official Wiki currently displays Glowhammer, while Neoseeker lists Glowglammer. The table flags that conflict; verify the ingredient name shown by the current Cauldron instead of buying a similarly named material blindly.
How to get Luck Dust
Luck Dust cannot be picked up as ordinary forage. First obtain a Rabbicula and keep it fed. A fed Rabbicula can occasionally create a small Luck Dust dig spot somewhere on the farm; dig up the mound to collect it.
There is a tradeoff: the Rabbicula takes one of your crops each time you collect Luck Dust. Keep valuable or quest crops harvested and maintain a cheap replaceable crop block before digging. Luck Dust is required for the Love Potion and is also a liked gift for Noel and Sabrina in the current official Wiki.
Rabbicula becomes available from Luna in Spring, Year 2 in the checked animal guides, so Love Potion production is later progression even if the recipe appears in Webb of Wonders earlier.
We found no reliable evidence for the old Iron/Silver/Obsidian cauldron ladder, permanent Mana elixirs, or transformation-potion table.
Efficient Crafting Routine
- Send raw materials to universal storage.
- Check upcoming quest requirements before processing the last copy of an item.
- Keep several Kegs active when fruit production increases.
- Split Blood Grapes between Energy-supporting juice and higher-value wine.
- Prepare decorating items in the bag before entering edit mode.
- Save at least one copy of herbs and unusual magical produce before selling; later potions combine crops, forage, powders, fish, and animal materials.
- Treat exact online recipe lists as version-sensitive unless they cite a current release database.
Confirmed vs. Still Needed
Confirmed:
- universal storage feeding stations;
- Keg, Refiner, Furnace, Mill, cooking, crafting, and potion systems;
- Refiner unlock requirements and core conversion recipes;
- Sugar production through the Mill;
- processing as an important source of income and quest materials;
- gradual potion progression;
- a potion-based appearance change.
Still needed for a complete database:
- Cauldron processing time;
- patch-stable resale values where current databases disagree;
- the exact story night on which every player receives the broken Cauldron;
- version-by-version recipe changes after PC 1.1.45.
