You receive your basic cauldron early in the story — it's impossible to miss. But that starter cauldron is just the beginning. As you progress, you'll upgrade it to unlock more complex recipes.

The Brewing Process
- Select a recipe from your research journal (or experiment blindly)
- Add ingredients to your cauldron in the correct order
- Stir — clockwise or counterclockwise matters for some recipes
- Heat control — adjust flame intensity (advanced cauldrons only)
- Wait — brewing time varies by potion complexity
- Bottle — use empty vials (craftable or purchasable)
Quality Tiers
Potions can be Normal, Fine, Superior, or Perfect quality. Higher quality = stronger/longer effects. Quality depends on:
- Your cauldron tier
- Ingredient freshness (harvested recently = better)
- Brewing skill level (increases with practice)
- Moon phase (Full Moon gives quality bonus)
Potion Brewing Tips
- Always keep a stack of Minor Mana Draughts. They use common ingredients and keep you casting through long nights.
- Grow Witch Hazel in bulk. It's used in more recipes than any other herb.
- Save Dracula's Tear for boss fights and critical story moments. It's the rarest ingredient.
- Brew during Full Moons for a quality bonus on every potion.
- Upgrade to Crystal Cauldron as soon as possible — the double-batch chance saves enormous time.
- Experiment with unknown ingredient combinations — some secret recipes aren't in any book.
