Verified Moonlight Peaks tips for the Sunscreen Potion, Scarecrow placement, water bubbles, Mana, storage, magical crops, gifts, and sunrise.

15 Moonlight Peaks Tips: Sunscreen, Scarecrow & Water Bubbles
These tips come from six-hour and 60-hour playthroughs. We removed the old version's unsupported moon-phase yields, soil fatigue, combat advice, secret vendors, and invented recipes.
Looking for Sunscreen? Unlock the Cauldron through Mend it with Magic, buy the Sunscreen Potion recipe at Webb of Wonders, then brew it with 1 Egg + 1 Fiber. The potion provides sun protection; it does not prove that the normal end-of-night limit can be ignored. See the complete Sunscreen Potion and Cauldron steps.
1. Turn Blood Grapes into juice or wine
Blood Grape Juice helps with early Energy, while wine takes longer and is better for income. Keep enough grapes to support both needs instead of selling the raw harvest.
2. Build several Kegs
Processing is central to the economy. A single Keg becomes a bottleneck quickly, so expand the line when your materials allow it.
3. Use the house's universal storage
Items stored in the house can be pulled directly by crafting, cooking, potion, and processing stations. Reviewers did not find a practical capacity limit.
4. Move decorating items into your bag first
Universal storage is not available from decorating mode. Gather the furniture you plan to use before starting a large redesign.
5. Save Energy food for clearing nights
The overgrown farm consumes a lot of Energy. Raw ingredients restore little in the early game, so keep cooked food, cafe purchases, or grape juice available before a long clearing session.
6. Reserve Mana for magical crops
Magical crops must be watered with a spell; the regular watering can does not work. Handle those crops before spending Mana on optional automation or decorating.
7. Observe special crop behavior
Some magical crops need more than water: reviewed examples include crops fed with a bug or fish, crops that water nearby soil, and crops that dry surrounding tiles. Test a small planting before filling the field.
8. Unlock and use Hellkitten form
Hellkitten moves faster and tills soil with less Energy. It is one of the clearest early quality-of-life upgrades for errands and farm expansion.
9. Check the map before walking across town
The map shows resident locations, shops, and points of interest. Shop signs and the map also show opening hours, so plan a loop that combines quests, gifts, shopping, and gathering.
10. Do not panic at 6 AM
In the 60-hour review build, sunrise teleported the player home without a money or stamina penalty. Sleeping in the coffin remains the normal way to end and save a night, but a late trip is not automatically a disaster.
11. Adjust the night length when it unlocks
The default night is about 15 minutes. Later settings allow roughly 10- or 25-minute nights, making it easier to match the pace to waiting, exploration, or decorating.
12. Test ethereal Axe and Pickaxe spells once
The review build prevented other actions while these summoned tools worked. The ethereal Watering Can did not have the same problem. Test the current patch before making them part of your Mana routine.
13. Use flowers to learn gift preferences
Foraged flowers were an effective early social strategy. The relationship screen remembers the last eight gifts and whether the character liked, loved, or disliked them.
14. Play Nokturna with residents who enjoy it
Nokturna is not only a side game; it is also one of the available relationship activities. NPCs use different decks, so keep more than one strategy.
15. Expect collection goals to last
The 60-hour review build contained 95 critters, 22 fish, and 100 Vempsters, plus Soul Blobs and other discoveries. Fish and critters vary by area and season, so do not expect to finish those collections immediately. Treat shorter launch-week tables as partial lists until their authors explicitly confirm completion.
What Are the Bubbles in the Water?
The sparkling bubbles or ripples on rivers and lakes are Mermaid-form dive spots, not special fishing spots. Trying to cast into one does not add a rare-fish bonus.
Unlock Mermaid/Aqua form through The Mermaid's Wish, which appears after reaching Luna Bay. Transform, swim to the ripple, and interact to dive for the item below the surface. Until Mermaid form is unlocked, leave the bubbles alone and return later. The forms guide lists the Luna Bay and shell-powder steps.
Where Should You Put the Scarecrow?
Place the Scarecrow close enough that its highlighted protection area covers the crop tiles you care about. Uncle Viktor introduces the need to protect crops from ravens, and the placement preview shows that one Scarecrow protects a limited area rather than the whole farm.
Do not put it at the edge of a large field and assume the opposite side is safe. Split a wide field into protected blocks or add another Scarecrow when the first radius no longer covers every tile.
For a complete setup that also accounts for 4×4 Aquaflux fields, the Firefly Pollinator's 9×9 grid, Beehives, makers, and future buildings, use the farm layout plan.
