Unlock all three Moonlight Peaks transformations: Hellkitten/Cat, Mermaid/Aqua, and Bat, with exact quests, Bat Chalice locations, and form uses.

Moonlight Peaks Transformations: Unlock Bat, Mermaid & Cat
Transformations are vampire abilities used for movement, exploration, and farm work. Post-launch documentation identifies three forms: Hellkitten/Cat, Bat, and Mermaid/Aqua.
Quick answer: complete The Dinner Party for Hellkitten/Cat form, finish The Mermaid's Wish after opening Luna Bay for Mermaid/Aqua form, and complete Orlock's late-story Master of the Night quest for Bat form. The earlier version incorrectly described Werewolf combat and Mist powers that are not supported by the release game.
| Form | Unlock quest | Main use |
|---|---|---|
| Hellkitten / Cat | The Dinner Party | Faster errands, low-Energy tilling, creature and small-passage interactions |
| Mermaid / Aqua | The Mermaid's Wish | Swimming, dive ripples, water routes, early Gold access |
| Bat | Master of the Night | Flight, high ledges, later exploration routes |
Hellkitten Form
Hellkitten is the first transformation reached in a six-hour playthrough.
Confirmed benefits:
- faster movement than the normal vampire form;
- tilling soil with substantially less Energy;
- quicker travel between residents and quest areas.
Because the town is large and many early quests involve travel, Hellkitten is useful even when you are not farming.
Unlocking Hellkitten
The official quest table and Neoseeker both place the unlock after The Dinner Party. Invite Elvira, Samael, Mina, Evan, and Ridge, then attend the dinner at the Ambrosia Mansion. Completion unlocks the Forms wheel and Cat form.
Bat Form
The official game site explicitly describes Bat form as a convenient way to fly around town. Neoseeker describes it as a movement and exploration form and notes that some rooms do not allow activation.
How to Unlock Bat Form
Bat form arrives later in the main story through Master of the Night. Finish Elections by Moonlight, A Missing Moon, and The Moon in the Sky, then wait a night or two and enter Misty Shores. A cutscene with Orlock starts the Bat quest; repeatedly visiting the graveyard before those story quests are complete will not unlock it.
The current official quest table lists these objectives:
- deliver a glass of Red Wine to Orlock at Ambrosia Mansion;
- collect Orlock's “Special Order” at Coffee & Coffins;
- return to Ambrosia Mansion and talk to Jarvis;
- find the three Chalice pieces around Misty Shores;
- ask Mina about the Chalice and repair it at a Furnace;
- bring a raspberry or cranberry to the graveyard.
Completing the quest unlocks Bat form. Some interiors block transformation, so step outdoors or into a larger area if the form will not activate.
All 3 Chalice Piece Locations
| Piece | Exact location |
|---|---|
| 1 | South of the Cave of Echoes entrance, behind the fallen tree log |
| 2 | Upper-left area of Ambrosia Graveyard, beside the large black bell |
| 3 | Southwest of Moonlight Tower, directly below the mushroom circle |
Once all three pieces are collected, use a Furnace to repair the Chalice, return it to Ambrosia Mansion, and take either a Raspberry or Cranberry to the graveyard. The official quest table confirms the three destination areas; GameRant's illustrated route supplies the exact object-level positions.
Mermaid / Aqua Form — Spoiler
Mermaid appears as Aqua form in the Forms selector. It lets you swim, interact with sparkling water ripples, reach new locations, and cross the Cave of Echoes lake for the earliest documented Gold Ore route.
1. Open Luna Bay
Advance the story until Ludo starts A Curious Passage in the Howling Marshes. Meet him beside the small opening left of the broken bridge, change into Cat form, and pass through to meet Tae, Kim, and Rei. Bonus Action reports that the developers described this as story progression rather than a fixed friendship threshold; if Ludo has not appeared, clear active main quests instead of only grinding gifts.
2. Advance the Luna Bay Story
Complete The Mysterious Bay and Ludo's Plan. These quests reconnect the mermaids with town, clear the blocked waterfall route, and advance Kim and Samael's storyline.
3. Complete The Mermaid's Wish
The official quest table lists the following objectives:
- ask Yabbis about growing legs;
- find the special shell in the Cave of Echoes;
- find the second special shell in Misty Shores;
- grind both shells in an Alchemist Mortar;
- deliver the Special Shell Powder to Luna Bay.
Completion unlocks Aqua form and the “Call of the Current” achievement.
Water Ripples and Gold Ore
Sparkling bubbles or ripples in rivers and lakes are dive interactions, not rare-fish markers. Transform into Aqua form, swim to the ripple, and interact with it. Before the form unlocks, leave the spots and return later.
In the Cave of Echoes, Aqua form also opens the first verified Gold route across the underwater lake. You still need an Iron Pickaxe to break Gold nodes. Bat form later reaches additional northern ledges; see the Gold Ore and Crystal Cave guide for the separated routes.
Transformation Tips
- Use Hellkitten for repeated town errands and soil preparation.
- Use Aqua form for dive ripples and the first cross-water Gold route.
- Use Bat form for Moonlit Slopes, high ledges, and windowsill searches that the other forms cannot reach.
- Open the Forms wheel and follow the button prompt shown by your platform or custom control binding.
- Follow story events; transformations are progression rewards, not shop purchases listed in the sources we reviewed.
- Treat any guide describing transformation combat damage, regeneration, or enemy-only areas with caution—Moonlight Peaks does not have a combat system in the reviewed full game.
Confirmed vs. Unverified
Confirmed:
- Hellkitten/Cat, Bat, and Mermaid/Aqua forms;
- Hellkitten improves movement and soil tilling;
- Bat provides flight around town;
- Mermaid supports swimming, dive interactions, and cross-water routes;
- the current quest table identifies the exact unlock quests for all three forms.
Not verified here:
- fixed Mana costs or drain rates;
- a no-cooldown rule;
- Werewolf combat;
- Mist wall-phasing;
- teleport-stone requirements;
- a universal friendship-level requirement for A Curious Passage; published sources conflict, so story progression is the safer trigger.
