Residents declining your opening invitation is part of the documented story sequence, not evidence that you need different gifts or a higher friendship threshold. While the invitation objective is active, use the quest invitation dialogue and follow Jada's current objectives; the Museum guide source explicitly notes that most invitees refuse.

The Museum is open, but where do I donate?

Use the hall portal to enter a collection room and interact with its collection sign, rather than handing donations to Jada. The Museum planner separates room requirements; use cooking recipes for requested dishes and the quest directory if the opening sequence is still unfinished.

How to Unlock the Museum

The documented route has two stages.

1. Help Jada build the first exhibition

The Museum in the Making objectives ask you to collect four family artifacts. The supporting tasks are:

6. hand out five invites for the opening.

If the Museum quest has not started, keep advancing active town and family quests and check Jada's dialogue after she moves to the pier. A reviewer's “about 20 hours” unlock is not a deadline and does not prove that a later save is bugged.

How to Give the Five Museum Invites

The journal objective is to hand out five opening invites. Talk to residents while that objective is active and use the quest-specific invitation option. Bonus Action notes that most invitees saying no is intentional, so rejection does not mean you picked the wrong resident or failed the quest.

The published quest table then shows the invitation step being cancelled as the sequence advances. Do not restart the night just because the remaining counter disappears after the story moves on.

Where to Donate Museum Items

Do not take donations to Jada or the front desk. Enter the correct collection room through the portal in the main hall, then interact with the exclamation-mark sign beside that collection.

The current official Museum table does not state a universal Perfect-quality rule for the Farming Room. It explicitly marks 2-star quality only on certain Supernatural food donations. Follow the requirement shown on the room board in your current game instead of upgrading every crop by assumption.

That entry does not give material quantities, a recipe purchase price, a required season or an unlock quest. Is Beach Lantern the same as Shell Lantern?

No. The source lists them as separate Mermaid donations:
